Everything
I have a little bit of everything on my mind tonight. This means that instead of thinking my blog posts have been really short and lame as of late, you need to count your lucky stars I'm at work and shouldn't be doing this at all and there for must keep it breif-ish.
So, updates: I have moved into my house and I now have a tabby cat named Mabel. What I do not have yet is internet service. I'm enjoying being able to park my car in my garage when the weather is unpleasant. It could only be better if the garage was attached. Thinking just now though, I don't know that I've ever really liked a house that had an attached garage, so I may never have an attached garage.
Work has been interesting lately. I've been wanting to write some heavily library-related posts, but haven't been able to due to lack of internet access. These posts might not ever happen anyway, since normally I compose these in my head at work and mostly forget about them later. If I ever do get around to it, they'll either be astoundingly good and interesting, or the most boring crap you've ever read. That's what I'm predicting, anyway.
I am keeping track of what I'm reading while not posting, so I'll get around to that eventually. Yes, even though it's pretty clear no one cares what I'm reading. Actually, I've been watching more movies than reading for the past week and a half. Mabel is not a great reading companion so far; she's too active. So, in an effort to spend time with her while I'm home I've been watching movies.
Has anyone else noticed that the seasons seem to be shifting? Winter is January - March now, it seems, and so on.

At Work
I am constantly feeling like patrons want more from me or less from me than I am giving. Only about 2 out of 10 do I feel like they got exactly what they wanted from me.

Fo' Real This Time, Dawg
I am finally moving tomorrow. I have not made any arrangements for internet service, so I might be offline for awhile. I know the last time I said the blog might appear abandoned, it really wasn't any more abandoned than usual, but this time I mean it. Things might get real boring 'round here for a bit.
I'm trying to muster up the energy to tell you more about what's been going on moving-wise... like how my kitchen still has cow wallpaper even thought it's been a month because... well, there were a lot of other things to worry about. And um... let's see... I'm getting a kitty pretty much right away which is exciting. I'm worried about Merlin, though. I decided awhile ago it'd be best for him to stay here, but I think he's going to miss me more than cats usually miss people. I hope I haven't made a mistake deciding he should stay with Mom, Dad and Gizmo. He was always a family pet so I never considered it an option until Mom said something one day. I kind of wish she hadn't opened that can of worms.
Wow... I sure know how to turn a post all dismal! Enough of that! Yay house! Yay for my street finally being plowed! Yay for my sofa being ready! Yay for my family, including my "baby" brother helping me move! Yay for new kitty!

If It's A Holiday, Why Did I Have To Work?
Some of you might have heard today is a holiday-- Valentine's Day. With that in mind, I decided to show you a valentine my friend basscomm showed me the other day.... because it's cool... depending on how you go about defining cool.

You Should See Me Now
Merlin is on my lap again. Tonight, though, Gizmo is perched on the back of my chair trying to figure out how she can get in on the situation. I've had to tell her there's just no room for both of them, but I can see she's still thinking about leaping down to my lap.

Ice Day
Today was my first snow day in over a year, I think. It was really more of an ice day, though. That's what is causing most of the problems.
I would like to report that I used the day to finish packing. Instead I can only report that I used the day to finish reading the 5th (and final?) book in the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. Over the past month I've read Confessions of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, Shopaholic Ties the Knot, Shopaholic & Sister and finally Shopaholic & Baby. They are good books, but they're not exactly the best books ever and I can't quite explain why I read the whole series in one run. I will say I think they only get better as they go.
Other activites today include napping with a cat, chatting with friends online and eating vegetable soup. Work is going to be a bit of a shock tomorrow.

Link Love
As usual when I post three times in one day, it's because I screwed something up. I failed to link people properly in both of my other posts tonight. I have fixed that now, but not before I hit the "publish post" button the first time sending them out to people's readers. So this post is all about link love, as I've heard it called.

Dear
Dear Mother Nature,
In this modern world of high tech communication, would it kill you to give us a heads up on what you're planning on doing? You don't have to tell everyone, but maybe you could tell city officials. From the look of the roads, no one bothered to tell them it was supposed to snow this afternoon.
With love & respect,
Bibliophile
Dear City Officials,
Looking at the roads, most especially that rather large and busy one that runs east-west across the city, I would have to assume you're all locked in a windowless room without access to radio, televison or inernet news. However I did see a couple of salt trucks as I drove across town so this must not actually be the case. Perhaps you were in a windowless room until 4:00 p.m.? I have never seen the major roads so bad!
With no love & minimal respect,Bibliophile
Dear Car,
Why, I ask why, is your check engine light on again? Did I just confuse you by driving home more slowly than I ever in my life have before, or is this that thing it keeps coming on for that my dear brother mechanic is having trouble figuring out?
Your owner for the past three years,
Bibliophile
Dear Radioactive Jam,
Just wanted to say than most of the time I have no problem with living in Indiana and Florida is really not somewhere I've ever considered living and I don't really even want to visit Florida. Today, however, especially since the radio DJ was reading Florida weather reports in between updates on the many, many traffic problems the snow was causing, I would much rather be in Florida and am officailly jealous of people who are in Florida.
Your loyal reader,
Bibliophile
Dear Blogger,
Why must you screw with my spacing when I save a draft? And what is the deal with your spell check? I require spell check!
Your currently disgruntled user,

Worm Two
There was another earth worm in my toilet tonight. I think this one was alive. Could this have to do with me not living in the house? Like... the toilet isn't being flushed often enough?

Trying To Find Closure
I'm going to get over this eventually, right? It's been a couple of weeks now since Flash was removed from my work computer and instead of getting used to it, I'm just getting more annoyed. I have time to kill! They should either give me more work or give me Flash. I wanted to check out an interactive campaign fundraising map today, but no, it requires Flash. I'm not sitting around watching YouTube all the live long day, I just want to be able to browse the web the way it's meant to be browsed, not the low-tech ghetto way I'm putting up with.
By the way, is anyone else having problems with Blogger's spell check?

I Want To Be Done
At first it was kind of cool to not be living in the house I own. It was like having a life-size doll house. I'd even go so far as to say I think that not moving in right away has been good for adjustment purposes. However now it's just getting annoying. So I decided I was going to move in next Saturday, sofa or no sofa. See, the sofa is one of the hold-ups. The store charges $70.00 for delivery, and I said heck no. So it needs to be picked up when it gets to town and I figured the easy thing to do would be get a U-haul and move my heavy furnature and pick up the sofa on the same day. Then I found out the sofa might take longer to arrive than I was originally told. So back to me moving next Saturday, sofa or no sofa. My mom wants me to put it off another week, so I'd be moving Saturday after next, because the sofa might be ready then. I hate living between houses like this (the majority of my things are already at my new house) but waiting two more weeks would give me time to deal with some stuff that I just simply have not gotten to that I would like to have taken care of before moving day. I don't know... I'm just really ready to be in and have it over with and enjoy my house a little. And I think I'm actually starting to get a little tired of Target.
Note: I am a notoriously horrible speller and Blogger's spell check isn't working for me right now, so I apologize for any horrible spelling.

Stock Tip
Moving is one of those things that ends up costing more than you think it will. There are so many things you might not have realized you'll need or things you don't need but want to the point that it's almost like needing them, and the next thing you know it just feels like your money is just melting. Since I started gearing up to move at the beginning of last month, I have spent SO MUCH MONEY, some of which was spent at Lowe's and like-stores, but most of which has been spent at Target. I feel like I am single-handedly keeping Target in business right now, but that must not be true since I see other people shopping there. So, anyway, that's my stock tip: I'm moving and spending too much money at Target, so you should buy stock in Target. Yeah.
