The Old Water Glass Question

Is the glass half full, or is the glass half empty? I have decided that the glass is indeed half empty, but at least it's only half empty.

I watched season 1 of "Ghost Hunters" on DVD yesterday, and at one point two of the guys were going back and forth and naming off old cliche sayings.
One said, "Is the glass half empty or half full? I say the damn glass is twice as big as it's supposed to be."

I've always maintained it's really a matter of whether you are in the process of pouring the liquid or draining the liquid. If you're in the process of filling the cup and stopped, the glass is half full. If you're in the process of drinking and stop, the glass is half empty.
